I had no idea...
This journey revealed to me the disastrous effect of corruption but also the beauty of the human spirit. We are capable of so much destruction, but also so much good. This last idea gives me all the strength and determination necessary to...... [view]

The results from our survey are in from Year 3 at Pedmore and also Y4/5 from St. Mary's! We found quite a big difference because in both schools Y3 don't study the rainforests until they reach Y4. This is what we found:

Friday 28 March 08, Malaysia
The first Asia-Tour-Day started with a detour. Taking the wrong lane in Singapore can end in a “2-hour-stop-and-go-getting-a-one-way-streets-headache”. Anyway we somehow arrived in Malacca, Malaysia.
After 200 km on the highway surrounded by monoculture palm...... [view]

Description: Help to protect forests by ensuring that products you buy don't contain Palm Oil!
From Wikipedia:
Palm oil production has been documented as a cause of substantial and often irreversible damage to the natural environment. Its impacts include: deforestation, habitat loss of critically endangered species such as the Orangutan and Sumatran Tiger, and a significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions.
The pollution is exacerbated because many rainforests in Indonesia and Malaysia lie atop peat bogs that store great quantities of carbon that are released when the forests are cut down and the bogs drained to make way for plantations. [view]
