Help Save the Earth by Buying Organic

Submitted By:   simplyrawgirl
Date Created:  2011-01-19
Description:   Everyone nowadays wants to go green. People recommend to recycle, reuse, compost, and carpool. Now here is another way you can go green, buy organic produce. By buying organic produce, you are promoting and supporting farming technics that help keep our world a healthier place. Organic farmers don't use pesticides or herbicides or chemical fertilizers that conventional farmers use. These harmful and toxic chemicals pollute the air, water, and soil. These are chemicals designed to kill weeds and insects. Can you imagine what is happening to ecosystems that are exposed to this? Organic farmers not only provide a non chemical environment for your produce, their farming technics also help conserve water and provide a healthy ecosystem for plants and animals. So if you help stop toxic chemicals from polluting our air, water, and soil, buy organic foods!

Description:   Choose natural food which is less harmful for the environment as well as for you! Avoid harmful additives such as chemical fertilizers, pesticides, artificial hormones and antibiotics. Agrochemicals degrade the land, pollute drinking water and cause nitrogen pollution, which eventually kills living organisms in aquatic environments. Also, the chemicals used in traditional agricultural methods can be extremely devastating to the environment and to human health. Agrochemicals degrade the land, pollute water and cause nitrogen pollution which eventually kills all living organisms in an aquatic environment. Not to mention that agrochemicals inadvertently end up in human drinking water supplies, and have been linked to cancer, birth defects, and low academic performance among other things. By buying more organic food, we will lessen the demand for products grown in the traditional chemical intensive manner. By doing so, we will reduce the amount of chemicals entering our bodies and the ecosystem.
